Prepare, to be afraid...

Life Without End

Seven billion people,
Cowering behind a leaf,
The rest of the world is our prey,
Except for the Sting-Rays around the Barrier Reef.

Convinced they are eternal,
Pretending to have come to terms with their mortality,
Clinging on to beloved oxygen tanks and masks,
Looking at those who can't with pity.

People squirm in interviews,
Like a fly would burn on an electric bulb,
Politicians claim to be like angles in a square,
There are only three stanzas, but the last one is twisted.
